Someone told me the other day that Seven Eleven is selling Bubble Yum soda now. I said to myself, 'that sounds familar'. Sounds like it originanated in the 80's:

"Bubble Gum (or Yum) Soda Pop
It is flavored like pink bubblegum-and yes it was gross. I found it in the grocery stores in Montana while on vacation around 88-89. I thought it was too cool at the time so I decided to save a can to show my friends back at home. I still have an unopened can around here somewhere!"

And I guess Seven Eleven bought it back for a retro revival or something.

---

Speaking of Bubble Yum, I went to almost every Seven Eleven/drug store in Franklin & Courtland looking for sugar free Peppermint Bubble Yum. For some reason I got a craving for it, and I can't find it.

We had Hubba Bubba Bubblegum Soda here in England back in the late 80's early '90's, and yes it was definately weird. I have seen a picture on the net of it somewhere, I will try and find it and post a link.

Here are the pics. In England it was made under licence from Wrigleys by JN Nichols who make Vimto Soda and squash here.

Squash is what we call concentrated syrup that you add tap water to to make a still drink. It's a fairly big market in England.

I saw it all over in Forida 7-Elevens and some along I-95 in Virginia. Bubble Yum and Jolly Rancher.
